It’s been a year since I was in London. This year’s London hype surrounded the announcement of the Royal Baby. In similar timing to the birth, and following the anniversary of my time in London, Cake Shop Media was celebrating its first year of operation. The July 1 celebration was a quiet one, but duly noted with a “thank you” Tweet and Facebook post. My appreciation for those who are my clients, those who send referrals and those who support the Cake Shop Media business does not only exist for one day of the year, but throughout its entirety. Much of my business stems from past relationships and I couldn’t be more grateful. This past year has seen new challenges and opportunities. It’s included a wide variety of media ranging from broadcast to outdoor, digital media schedules to social media posts, both business to business and business to consumer plans. Here are some of my personal highlights and surprises from the year. While they aren’t all technically work-related, they are all associated with media in some way or another:
- Sporting a sponsored jersey while cycling on my LifeTime Tri team (post massive rainfall)
- Incidentally being included in a Mpls.-St. Paul Magazine feature (90 days of summer, day 20)
- Having one of my photographs part of a Mashable.com top 10 (read post)
- Delivering cakes and cookies to unsuspecting clients
- Trying new things
Here’s to another year!
Cheers on a great first year!
